April Updates
Eeeek! Our Spring Show is just one month away!
I have no idea why it sneaks up on me every.single.time … but the one month mark before a show is a weirdly stealthy one. But no … I’m NOT PANICKING! (Okay, maybe just a little.)
So, of course, I’m going to put out the usual call for help! Because, I really do need everyone’s help for all the shows. We need members to represent us as a chapter at our chapter table, people to greet guests and make sure they know where to go to get to the show floor, and of course for set up and clean up. And the one thing that everyone can do is to help us promote, promote, promote! You can do that by liking and sharing our posts, and you can now pick up postcards from Rich’s porch and pass them out everywhere!
An continuing in the vein that I started last month, today I’d also like to highlight our Membership Secretary, Hali MacLaren. Hali is a busy jeweler who makes time in her crazy schedule to keep us up to date on our member roster. Among other things, Hali manages the welcome emails that everyone gets when they join for the first time, updates the board on new and renewing members and adds new members to our website. Hali also posts member works in our member gallery.

And if you think that you might like to be a part of our board and be part of a great group of people who all work together, let me know! We are always looking for new people to join us.
And one last thing! Our next meeting is on April 21st and it will be on How to Apply for Shows. This Zoom-only meeting will cover tips and tricks that will help you (more) successfully apply for shows. Presented by our Vice President of Standards, Robin Flynn and our Show Co-Chair, Christine Wright.
Sounds easy right? Just fill out the application and submit? But in reality, especially if you are in a competitive category like jewelry or your medium is an unusual one – or you are just new to shows altogether, there are a few tips that can really help you not just fill out the application, but increase your odds of success for getting in! Robin Flynn and Christine Wright will give everyone a peek behind the curtain with insights into how applications are viewed, verified and juried that will not just help artists with guild applications, but also for applications into any juried show. Even if you are a veteran of juried shows, this would be a good meeting to attend! The Zoom link for this meeting is down below.
