Green and Silver Kumihimo Necklace
Green and Silver Kumihimo Necklace
Product description
This stunning long Kumihimo Necklace is created with 4 colors of Myuki Seed Beads strung in the Kong Gumi Pattern. The Kumihimo pattern also includes small pale green teardrop glass beads, medium sized green teardrop glass beads, larger iridescent darker green teardrop glass beads, small silver teardrop beads surrounding 5 Large holed, beautifully created Lampwork beads with sterling silver centers. The 5 beads are different but coordinate beautifully with each other and the beads in the necklace. The clasp is a double hole sterling silver toggle. The cones are also sterling silver. Beautiful Jade beads adorn the tops of the cones. Unique one of a kind necklace which is fun to wear. I would recommend wearing small jade or sterling silver earrings so not to compete with the necklace.
Kumihimo is the ancient art of Japanese braiding dating back to 800 BC. It was originally woven with silks and other fibers by the Samurai.

Beauty and the Beads
About Beauty and the Beads Jewelry: Carol McGarvey and Sharon Morse are the co-owners and artistic creators of Beauty and the Beads Jewelry. They began 17 years ago by taking courses and working in many different jewelry techniques like bead embroidery, stamping, bead crochet, stringing, and metalsmithing. Sharon and Carol work individually on their creations but their designs compliment each other’s work. Their business has been successful because of their stylistic differences and color preferences. Carol and Sharon were introduced to the art of Kumihimo braiding in 2012. Since that time they have researched and pursued the mastery of this intricate technique. Kumihimo is the ancient art of Japanese braiding dating back to 800 BC. It was originally woven with silks and other fibers by the Samurai. Both ladies are Members of the American Kumihimo Society and have taken courses with the most famous Japanese-American Kumihimo master, Makiko Tada. Kumihimo has become their specialty and has been well received by their customers.
