Artist’s statement I play with beads. There is no other way to describe how I take the many and make them into one piece of jewelry and other art forms. I’m inspired by many things but my style seems to be geometric, usually symmetrical, minimal, organized, and with an ethnic flavor. I am juiced by the designs of many cultural styles. Inspiration comes to me in an odd duality of futuristic shape and ancient texture. My preferred palette is a mix of polarities: my signature work tends to be either dramatic black with ivory, travertine and metallic touches, or black with white and red, or earthy greens, purples and coppers. I play with materials, too. Though glass Japanese and Czech seed beads are a passion, I bring in accents in many mediums from plastic, clay, rubber and metal to wood, crystal, resin, and natural materials.
